Staff Accountant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team at a prestigious university. This role involves performing journal entries, participating in month-end close processes, assisting with audits, and contributing to financial reporting. Ideally, the candidate will have Accounts Payable (AP) experience to serve as a backup when needed. Responsibilities Perform journal entries and month-end close activities. Assist with financial audits and ensure accurate financial reporting. Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable processes. Maintain and manage the general ledger. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. At least 3 years of accounting experience, including month-end close and journal entries. Proficiency in general ledger management and financial reporting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with any ERP system more robust than QuickBooks is beneficial. AP experience is ideal to serve as a backup. Ability to manage capital assets and participate in audits. Strong team player with excellent communication skills. Work Environment The position is based in an office environment on a university campus. The role is full-time and on-site, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, including a half-hour lunch break. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.77 – $30.77/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
