We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Staff Accountant to join the dynamic team of our client in Windsor, CT. In this critical role, you will support financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely preparation of accounting records, financial reporting, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. + Post and reconcile journal entries, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger transactions. + Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy, correct discrepancies, and maintain account integrity. + Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasting reports. + Conduct variance analysis and generate financial insights for management. + Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. + Assist with audits by providing documentation and support as needed. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and reporting efficiencies. + Maintain confidentiality of financial information, safeguarding sensitive data.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. + 2+ years of experience in general accounting, financial reporting, or bookkeeping. + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and ERP systems. + Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas). + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. + Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with compliance reporting and financial audits. + Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounting, including general ledger and journal entry management.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in bank reconciliations and billing procedures.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Blackbaud.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify errors in financial data.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and resolve discrepancies.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills to collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
