Sr. Tax Accountant / Staff Position Available In South Central Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut

Description Seeking an experienced interim Senior Tax Accountant or contract to perm in the Brandford, Connecticut area. In this role, you will handle tax preparation, compliance, and advisory services for up to 20 clients. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with businesses of varying sizes and industries while maintaining a high standard of accounting and financial reporting. Private experience with small to medium size firms preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Manage bookkeeping services for approximately 20 external clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and file various tax returns, including corporate, individual, partnership, and non-profit returns.
• Assist clients with quarterly estimated tax payments and respond to tax notices as necessary.
• Provide guidance and support for Form 1099 preparation and submission.
• Handle multi-state tax filings and ensure proper adherence to state-specific regulations.
• Perform tax planning and advisory services using tools like CCH ProSystem fx.
• Analyze property tax obligations and prepare accurate returns.
• Collaborate with clients to address complex tax scenarios and provide tailored solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations. Requirements
• Experience in private accounting with small to mid-size firms.
• Expertise in preparing corporate, individual, partnership, and non-profit tax returns.
• Proficiency in handling multi-state tax filings and property tax returns.
• Familiarity with CCH ProSystem fx or similar tax planning software.
• Strong knowledge of Form 1099 preparation and filing processes.
• Ability to review financial statements and provide audit support as needed.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
