May 5th 2025 POSITION SUMMARY The Accountant is responsible for performing the accounting and analysis for the Authority. As part of the Authority’s Accounting Department the Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger in accordance with United States generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with Federal and State regulations. This is an opportunity for professional growth within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and post Prepay, Accrual and other journal entries, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts. 2. Responsible for Month end and quarterly closing (e.g. balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements) 3. Verify, allocate, post Capital expenditure Invoices and reconcile accounts payable and receivable as needed. 4. Responsible for Monthly Bank Reconciliation. 5. Manage 3rd party utility bill payment Company transactions and update system via import file. 6. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial performance reports for Management. Update budgets in accounting system 7. Participate in annual financial audits by serving as a company liaison with auditors 8. Responsibility for special Accounting projects 9. Perform analyses of inventory activity 10. Ensure all Authority activities projects are covered by valid, binding contracts

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 1.

Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. 2. Proficient with computers, including MS Office suite software, Internet, and electronic mail programs. 3. Expertise with accounting and property management software 4. Manage and complete multiple tasks across departments or functional areas. 5. Knowledge of applicable regulatory agency rules and regulations that apply to finances and accounting. 6. Understand and keeps current on Agency policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local codes, rules, and regulations as they pertain to job responsibilities. 7. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data 8. Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem solving skills with particular attention to detail.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. a. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. 2. Minimum of three (3) years progressive accounting experience required, preferably in the government sector. 3. Two (2) years of experience in public accounting. 4. HUD’s quality assurance & GASB 101/103 training within 1st 6 months
