Gainesville based Non-Profit is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fiscal Assistant with excellent analytical and organizational skills to join their team. The Fiscal Assistant provides support to the accounting department and works closely with the CFO and management staff. The primary responsibility is to assist with financial operations, including reviewing interim financial statements for offices in the state of Florida and helping maintain the organization’s overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies.
Job Duties:
Prepares bank deposits. Problem-solve payroll tax and sales tax-related questions. Assist and train with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, financial accounting, and payroll. Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance. Verify figures, postings, and documents to ensure proper entry, mathematical accuracy, appropriate codes, and compliance with policies and procedures. Prepare and file various tax returns (990 series, F1120, 1120, TPP, Sales Tax). Prepare documentation for external auditors. Provide backup for accounts receivable/payable functions: order preparations, transaction entries, invoice or expense report processing, and receipt deposits.
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent and minimum of two years of bookkeeping experience. Relevant college education may be considered in lieu of some experience requirements. Understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Ability to write simple correspondences and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to office assistants in locations around Florida. Possess high attention to detail, excellent analytical and organizations skills, and strong time management skills. Be proactive, accountable, and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
