The Office for Advancement provides leadership and coordination in developing activities and external support associated with gifts to enhance student recruitment/retention and create institutional impacts through philanthropic support. This includes cultivating philanthropic partnerships and individual giving; planning and directing fundraising campaigns; promoting annual giving; planning and coordinating comprehensive and capital campaigns; coordinating planned and deferred gifts; promoting employee and Alumni stewardship; and facilitating donor recognition events. Additionally, the Office for Advancement provides administrative support to the Foundation, which encourages and sustains long-term relationships with compassionate alumni, friends and businesses with generous hearts. SF’s generous donors support the mission and vision of the college, and as such bring about tranSFormational change throughout our communities. The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the Advancement Office and SF Foundation by computing, classifying and accurately recording day-to-day transactions. This position performs and verifies the accuracy of other employees’ data entries information and helps to ensure compliance with federal, state and college rules, procedures, and regulations in order to maintain the fiscal reporting integrity of the Foundation.

Job Description Responsibilities and Duties Include:

Monitors and reconciles daily, monthly and/or yearly Foundation records related to various internal and external accounts including Foundation’s bank accounts. Maintains complete, accurate and up-to-date reporting of programs including budget, revenue, and expense reports for supervisor review. Maintains complete, accurate, and up-to-date fundraising and campaign reports, and updates the donor management system. Prepares various reports for review by supervisor. Processes accounts receivables and payables, including incoming payments, using accounting software in compliance with financial policies and procedures; completes other related banking tasks such as making deposits and online banking. Prepares invoices and purchase orders for the Foundation when needed. Assists with identifying requests for funds from various departments by reviewing their program accounts. Utilizes computer programs for reporting, tracking and monitoring transactions; monitors the return of funds and recommends account adjustments as needed. Prepares schedules and reports for annual audit and tax return preparer. Gathers and organizes fund availability information for the Foundation’s scholarship awards. Coordinates with supervisor or other designee on various initiatives including improving and streamlining functions, processes, and reports. Provides support for meetings and events hosted by the Foundation and/or the Advancement Office. Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality. Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies, and procedures. Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:

An associate’s degree with four (4) years of experience or a combination of education and/or experience equal to six (6) years.
