Accountant CPA Business Advisors 1290 West Eau Gallie Boulevard, Melbourne, FL 32935 Overview We are a growing CPA firm and with a sizeable waiting list of clients to be activated. Our greatest need is for an experienced tax accountant with a substantial tax accounting background. This person would serve as a Tax Accountant working hand in hand with our Team Leads. Our firm offers significant opportunities for growth within the firm. Responsibilities include:
Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and not for profit entities Assist in preparation of quarterly and year end estimates Maintain financial reporting, records and general ledger accounts Maintain fixed assets and associated depreciation schedules Manage State and Federal audits Review of federal, state and local tax notices and draft responses Analyze tax forms for issues and provide training opportunities and guidance to the team Analyze tax data submitted by clients to maximize client outcome Directly interact with clients to plan and manage tax project workflows to achieve an accurate and efficient final product Be proactive in managing compliance with Operating agreements, deadlines, tax forms, waterfall, preferred return calculations and accruals Be proactive in managing OZ requirements, monitoring, and certifications Consolidated reports Provide diligent oversight of your bookkeeping and accounting team to ensure complete, accurate, and timely work. Maintain your expertise and skills through training as well as developing and implementing a training schedule for your team Responsible for working collaboratively with clients, partners, and staff to provide comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services. Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior client manager and client Provide excellent client service by being attentive, producing quality work, quick turnarounds and staying up-to date with all clients Fosters and exemplifies collaborative working relationships with all firm staff members
Requirements:
This is an in-office position, remote work is not available Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Active CPA, JD, or EA license Minimum 7 years’ experience in partnership taxation Ability to work both independently and in a team setting Excellent Communication Skills, both Written and Oral Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet client and tax compliance deadlines Proficient with accounting/tax software and Microsoft Office Products Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, with experience in multiple industries such as not-for-profit, construction, and real estate. Proficiency and consistency with prioritizing workload, multi-tasking, working independently with minimal supervision and meeting work deadlines

About Our Firm:
CPA Business Advisors was formed in 2008 with a majority of our client base involved in construction and/or real estate. Our clients are located throughout the US, with a concentration on the East Coast from the Keys up through New Hampshire. We currently have 15 employees and our firm’s focus is primarily on businesses and their owners. We are very hands-on and involved with our clients.
Our main roles include:
Serving as the accounting department for our clients without in-house accounting Serving as CFO Providing in-depth tax planning and advisory services. While we do perform tax work, it is not the primary reason why businesses hire us. As a result, our firm does not have a typical tax season: 80% of the tax returns we prepare are for clients for whom we also serve as their accounting department. Everything needed for tax preparation is in-house and has been planned for with the client throughout the year(s). This is why our tax season requires little to no overtime, allowing for an awesome work-life balance.
