Job Summary:
Refrigerated Express is seeking a detail-driven and experienced Comptroller / Payroll Accountant to oversee financial operations, with a strong emphasis on payroll to submit payroll leasing payroll company. This role combines strategic financial oversight with hands-on accounting and payroll processing responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a solid background in accounting, payroll, and regulatory compliance, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Oversight:
Manage general ledger, month-end close, and preparation of financial statements. Oversee A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, and cash flow tracking. Assist in the creation of budgets, forecasts, and financial strategy development. Monitor financial performance by analyzing revenue, costs, and key performance indicators. Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (GAAP) and government regulations. Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual audit process.
Payroll & Employee Compensation:
Process weekly payroll for all employees, including drivers, mechanics, and administrative staff and submit to payroll leasing payroll company. Maintain accurate payroll records and timekeeping systems Track driver pays structures, per diem and bonuses. Maintain and reconcile payroll records and timekeeping data.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Accounting and payroll experience, preferably within the trucking or logistics industry. Strong understanding of payroll systems and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Prism HR) High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
