Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining corporate accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance tasks. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update leasing schedules and related journal entries to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Oversee warranty accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries while collaborating with the warranty department for accurate reporting.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, capitalization policies, depreciation, and related reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly internal financial statements and semi-annual consolidation packages.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare and manage month-end journal entries and account reconciliations for corporate operations.
- Support the monthly intercompany reconciliation process by matching and clearing items as part of the month-end close.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure the operation of key accounting controls.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to transition from manual workflows to IT-focused solutions. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of accounting experience, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SAP or similar large-scale accounting systems is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger processes.
