Project Accountant As a Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to budgets. Responsibilities:
Review and process project contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other agreements to ensure compliance with required terms and conditions. Efficiently handle job cost invoices and subcontractor billings, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any contract or compliance-related matters. Maintain organized physical and digital records of all project-related documentation. Reconcile monthly inventories and conduct material analyses as needed. Ensure all project costs, including equipment, materials, supplies, and miscellaneous expenses, are processed correctly. Perform closeout functions, including reconciliations, financial status reports, final invoices, and comprehensive financial reporting. Support time and effort reporting systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Review unit entries and reconciliations prepared by support staff. Guarantee timely payments to subcontractors and major suppliers. Generate financial statements and reports from various data sources to ensure transparency and clarity. Assist with month-end closings to facilitate accurate financial reporting. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required). A minimum of 3 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. Strong understanding of construction cost accounting principles and financial procedures. Proficiency in accounting software, including Sage 300 and Procore. Familiarity with the construction industry landscape and financial operations. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
