Staff Accountant 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Miramar, FL 33027 Job description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. The Staff Accountant will work closely with other team members to support the overall financial health of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for account reconciliations of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to maintain integrity of the trial balance. Assist in cash management/banking by opening/closing new accounts, ensuring stores have proper supplies on hand, monitoring chargebacks, and help with reconciliation of our Loomis SafeVantage accounts. Review POS Sales Audit data for accuracy, resolve POS closing discrepancies, and reinforce company procedures with retail team. Reconcile change order store funding transactions. Assist in completing monthly close to ensure timely financial statement preparation and issuance. Assist with semiannual inventories and year-end audits. Assist with any ongoing department projects as assigned by Controller. Desired Skills & Experience Must have a minimum of 3-5 years reconciliation and journal entry experience. Experience with treasury management a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required Problem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Planning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently. Quality control—the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance. Quantity—meets productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner. Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Dependability—the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance. Ability to work flexible hours when required and manage time effectively. Must have excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written). Great Plains experience a plus but not required Advanced proficiency with MS Office. Experience in the retail industry a plus.

Full-time Pay:

$59,000.00 – $62,000.00 per year
