We are looking to hire an assistant to the Senior Tax Accountant in the Corporate Tax Department of an established Attorney/CPA Firm in Plantation, Florida. We are seeking to hire an ambitious full-time employee who is eager to learn and grow within the firm. The firm has grown to provide tax, accounting, and legal services to individuals, families, and small businesses throughout South Florida. Corporate Taxes include accounting and tax preparation for Corporations, Partnerships, Non-Profits, and Sole-Proprietors. We meet with clients quarterly and annually to understand their specific situations and are knowledgeable about the myriad of tax deductions to minimize our clients’ tax liability.

Responsibilities include:

Gathering bank statements, credit card statements, and payroll reports to record activity in QuickBooksPreparing monthly or quarterly write-up for retainer clientsReporting monthly Sales Tax returns to Florida Department of RevenueReviewing General Ledger for client errors or omissions of income and expensesPreparing Annual Tax Files with documentation to support the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and the Federal Tax ReturnWriting checks and preparing reconciliations for trust clientsPreparing Annual 1099s and 1096s for approximately 100 clientsMaintaining written and oral communication with clients

Qualifications:

2+ years experience with QuickBooks On-line and Desktop2+ years experience working in an Accounting DepartmentKnowledge of Payroll Reports, i.e., W-3, W-2, 941, 940, and RT-6Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentGoal OrientedStrong time-management skillsAbility to meet deadlinesAccurate and efficient data entry skillsCompany DescriptionLes S.
