JOB DESCRIPTION
Nemours is seeking an Accountant II (Leases) to join our Nemours Home Office in Jacksonville, Florida. This position is responsible for Nemours’ lease accounting functions.
This position is responsible for evaluating and analyzing leases for payment obligations and accounting implications. This position is involved in the annual and interim external audits related to leases and will be responsible for the monthly reconciliation of the lease accounts as well as any necessary journal entries.
Perform an accurate and timely close of the Lease Management (LM) Module in Harmony each month.
Hosting quarterly meetings with operations regarding upcoming leases and amendments and any outstanding concerns regarding current leases.
Ensure adherence to lease capitalization policies & procedures; prepare all correcting journal entries related to capital and properly classify transactions as assets or expenses.
Process quarterly rebalancing of lease obligations.
Reconcile all lease accounts for every operating division each month. Assist with lease related variance explanations on monthly financials.
Providing the team with explanation for material changes in financials for leases. Provide information to and work directly with external auditors during interim and year-end audit.
Ensure appropriate capitalization under U.S. GAAP and assist in researching guidance.
Manage Lease Accountant email inbox by providing timely responses and executing twice monthly invoice payment runs to Accounts Payable.
Assist Accounting department with projects as needed.
Assist Lead in preparation of monthly variance explanations.
Assist all areas of Business Operations on an as needed basis.
Perform ad hoc analysis as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
3-5 years of experience
