Grant Accountant – HYBRID Position Available In Duval, Florida

Description We are looking for a dedicated Grant Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role involves managing grant-related financial activities and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will also oversee project accounting for fixed assets and contribute to accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Review invoices to verify they meet reimbursement and compliance standards.
• Track and manage grant expenditures while maintaining detailed financial records.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive grant-related reports as needed.
• Oversee accounting for capital projects, ensuring accurate cost recording and capitalization.
• Evaluate and approve project expenses to confirm they are necessary and properly attributed.
• Classify and document project costs to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
• Capitalize costs associated with construction until the asset is operational. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience with a focus on attention to detail.
• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and their consistent application.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with advanced computer and Excel functionalities.
• General understanding of accounting and ERP systems; experience with SAP preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and state grant compliance is an advantage.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
