DESCRIPTION
The Project Accountant is an integral part of the Finance group. The Project Accountant will work closely with Client Finance, Client Teams, Project Accounting Manager and Director to create client level P&Ls and to provide financial support to the client teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Review SOW’s Project, Contract and Concur Setup and review Revenue Recognition – Contract Level Project Accruals and Expense Re-classes Variance Analysis assistance Client invoicing Balance Sheet Reconciliation Ad Hoc Analysis including Client Team support & Interaction
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Requirements:
BS or BBA in Accounting/Finance 1-3 years’ work experience in Finance/Accounting related positions
Required Skills:
Experience with Revenue accounting principlesa. service contract experience a plus Advanced Excel data analysis skills required Access database experience a plus Oracle experience a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to get into the details and summarize Proven ability to work well in teams Manage multiple priorities High level organization High energy and results oriented
Expectations:
Ensure all accounting activities are performed timely and accurately and in accordance to the project contract Daily interaction with both Finance & Client Team organizations Manage Balance Sheet accruals and maintain details back up Support the Client Finance organization to provide answers to “Why it happened?” questions and to “What happened?” questions Obtain a through and detailed understanding of customer engagements prior to project launch Invoice clients in timely accurate manner Cross-functional communication is very important – all project functions should be alerted to events that may have an impact on either the performance or the finances of a project We want the Client Finance & Accounting team to view the Client Finance & Accounting Project Accountants as a value adding partner who proactively seek to improve the business #DiscoverYourPath
