Staff Accountant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to prepare and record general ledger journal entries related to inventory. The role involves performing monthly cost audits, supporting annual standard cost rolls, and collaborating with operations to monitor monthly metrics for inventory cycle counts. Additionally, the accountant will support monthly standard cost variance analysis for purchase price variances, freight, and duties, and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Knowledge of standard costing, accounting principles, financial statements, and analysis is essential. Responsibilities Prepare and record general ledger journal entries related to inventory. Perform monthly cost audits and provide support for annual standard cost roll. Assist with monitoring and working with operations to obtain monthly metrics for inventory cycle counts. Support monthly standard cost variance analysis for purchase price variances, freight, and duties. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Assist the cost accounting team on special projects as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in accounting, inventory accounting, and cost accounting. Experience with general ledger management and reconciliation. Ability to perform variance analysis. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLookups. Strong analytical skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and levels within the organization. Work Environment The position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence from Tuesday to Thursday.
