POSITION OVERVIEW
The Accountant will be an integral part of our client’s accounting team, supporting the operations of their specialized branch in Tampa. This role includes a variety of day-to-day accounting responsibilities, such as managing accounts payable and receivable, processing billing, and preparing financial reports. The ideal Accountant will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive mindset when addressing challenges. The candidate will also play a key role in month-end closing procedures, audit preparations, and the enhancement of accounting processes. This position offers a valuable opportunity for to contribute meaningfully to the continuous improvement and success of the accounting department.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTANT
Supervise and mentor entry-level accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development and project setup tasks.
Review contracts and trade partner documentation for accounting-related items, ensuring proper interpretation and assisting with project setup procedures.
Assemble client billing packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions, ensuring timely payments.
Perform general accounting and administrative functions for large projects, ensuring all financial transactions are completed accurately and on time.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, process cash receipts, and identify any irregularities or risks, while developing strategies to address and mitigate them.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE ACCOUNTANT
2 – 5 years of accounting experience.
Strong foundational understanding of accounting processes.
Eagerness to grow within the accounting profession.
Extensive Excel experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE ACCOUNTANT
Hands-on construction industry experience preferred but not required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
