Payroll Accountant John’s Island Club 3 Johns Island Drive, Vero Beach, FL 32963 John’s Island Club is seeking a skilled Payroll Accountant to manage payroll across multiple compensation structures. Ideal candidates will have extensive payroll experience, preferably in a hospitality setting, along with strong Excel skills and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll, calculate and verify pay across multiple compensation structures, and issue payments accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Prepare and maintain payroll templates and complex spreadsheets; calculate wages, deductions, and adjustments. Review, audit, and validate payroll entries and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and company policies. Maintain accurate payroll records, including exemptions, garnishments, and loan repayments. Reconcile, prepare, and submit payroll tax filings and reports; ensure timely payment of all related taxes and deductions. Generate complex reports and analyses using HR/Payroll software, Excel, and tools such as Power BI. Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and other departments to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and support cross-functional initiatives. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
3+ years of experience in payroll and accounting, preferably in a high-volume, multi-department environment. Proficiency in HR/payroll systems – experience with UKG Ready and Jonas Encore is a plus. Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax reporting requirements. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis. Familiarity with Power BI (preferred). Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). CPP certification is a plus.
