Full Job Description Job Summary:
The accountant will play a major role in our daily accounting operations, month-end process, financial reporting, and process implementation as we scale our organization and the Accounting Department. This role requires critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and solid organizational skills which will help drive efficiency and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Perform daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, bank reconciliations, month-end journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide reports on variances.
Billing and Invoicing:
Manage the invoicing process for HVAC services and maintenance contracts. Track and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Coordinate with external auditors or tax consultants as needed.
Reporting:
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Provide financial analysis and insights to management for strategic decision-making.
Inventory and Asset Management:
Track and manage inventory and equipment assets. Ensure proper accounting for purchases, disposals, and depreciation.
Process Improvement:
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. Leverage accounting software to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, service teams, and other departments to support operational needs. Assist in financial planning for new projects or service initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in
Accounting Minimum Experience:
5+
Years Field-of-Expertise:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles including cost accounting Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Proficient with full cycle accounting functions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Have a proactive approach to problem solving. Team-oriented. Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise experience required. ServiceTitan knowledge is preferred. Google Business Suite experience is a plus, but Microsoft Office experience will translate. Proficiency with documents and spreadsheets required. Background and Drug Screening is required prior to employment.
