Accountant Position Available In Lee, Florida

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Fort Myers, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for managing vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. This position requires strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Process and review vendor invoices and employee expense reports across multiple business units, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission.
• Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders to maintain accurate records.
• Reconcile vendor statements and address any outstanding issues promptly.
• Manage bi-weekly payment batches, including file uploads, wire transfers, and automated payment processing.
• Maintain and update month-end accrual trackers to ensure financial data accuracy.
• Organize and maintain vendor files in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Process employee expense reports in Concur, ensuring timely approvals and accurate postings for month-end.
• Post daily cash transactions from bank records into the general ledger.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations, accrual tracking, and verifying receiving transactions.
• Contribute to additional accounting projects and tasks as assigned. Requirements
• Proficiency in account coding and general ledger functions.
• Experience with accounting software systems and ERP platforms.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accrual accounting.
• Familiarity with auditing and ACH payment systems.
• Ability to manage cash transactions and reconcile accounts effectively.
• Hands-on experience with Concur for expense reporting and data management.
• Competence in monthly account reconciliations and financial closing procedures.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills to handle multiple responsibilities accurately.
