Job Description

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. This is a Contract-to-permanent position that offers the opportunity to grow within the organization while contributing to key financial operations. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate management of fiscal records, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and vendor payments.
  • Utilize the Purchase Order system in alignment with procurement policies to maintain organized financial records.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll, including updates to pay rates, deductions, and employee records.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliation and data entry using automated financial systems.
  • Assist in compiling financial data for audits, projects, and departmental reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures while managing fiscal recordkeeping.
  • Support month-end closing processes by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives to enhance team collaboration and broaden expertise.
  • Address other related accounting tasks as assigned to support departmental goals. Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and preparing journal entries.
  • Skilled in month-end closing processes and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar financial systems.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
