Position Summary The accountant is responsible for assisting the Director and Management in various tasks in the Finance Department. The accountant role will be responsible for FCC and HPMP monthly financial close and other quarterly/yearly accounting tasks. Essential Functions 1.Creates and enters journal entries into Great Plains. 2.Reconciles Balance Sheet and other General Ledger accounts. 3.Assists with accruals, bank recs, quarterly/yearly reporting, and other analysis. 4.Assists with special projects including audits and regulatory requests and deliverables. 5.Ensures closing tasks are completed timely and accurately. 6.Provides support as needed to co-workers and management. 7.Maintains workpapers for management review and audits. 8.Organizes mail/email and all documentation electronically on shared drives 9.Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience 1.3-5 years accounting experience 2.BS/BA in accounting preferred Required skills: 1.Medicaid and/or Medicare Managed Care experience a plus 2.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 3.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment 4.Great Plains experience preferred 5. Excel and other micosoft products
