About the Company Miami-based Private Equity Firm focused on investments in lower middle market companies is seeking a dynamic Accountant to join its team and support the accounting and personal planning needs of the firm’s Principal. About the Role The position is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in exposure to a full spectrum of accounting responsibilities, but who is seeking a flexible part-time role. Qualified candidates will be highly motivated and talented accounting professionals who possess strong accounting, analytical, business and communication skills, as well as demonstrate efficient organization and time management skills. Position will report directly to the Principal. Responsibilities Closing the books at month end Maintaining the QuickBooks General Ledgers of multiple entities Supporting the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package for the Principal Reconciling Bank Accounts monthly and recording cash receipts Reviewing and inputting invoices into QuickBooks and communication with the various vendors Reviewing expenses and credit card statements for accuracy and proper accounting treatment Preparing balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations Preparing journal entries Preparing forecasts and budgets as requested Working closely with third party advisors / service providers to gather information and reporting Preparing year-end financial schedules/reports to send to various tax return preparers Reconciling tax return drafts to financial statements and documenting the book / tax differences Assisting with managing and tracking investor reporting including capital calls, distributions, quarterly reporting, and periodic requests Migrating existing books and records to NetSuite as needed Other duties, analysis or projects as assigned Part time 20-25 hours per week Qualifications / Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting w/ 4+ years of accounting experience Active CPA license preferred QuickBooks and NetSuite experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Excel skills Strong work ethic/integrity and excellent attitude Strong verbal and written communication skills Desire/experience utilizing technology to simplify work processes and improve efficiency Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to meet deadlines on a timely basis Self-disciplined with strong sense of urgency and commitment to producing high quality work Ability to research and resolve issues/problems independently Proficient at multi-tasking Proactive and a self-starter Ability to work independently with a wide variety of people, including internal and external clients Preference will be given to candidates with experience in: Family Office Accounting / Work Experience Partnership Accounting Tax Return Review
