Job description We are looking to hire an experienced construction accountant to join our company. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the accounts of various construction projects by processing and tracking payments to subcontractors and other vendors and process draw requests to our lenders.
Construction Accountant Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the project manager to summarize payment schedules in accordance with applicable contracts
- Verify payment history
- Obtain sworn statements of account from suppliers
- Monitor Notices to Owner
- Create and obtain waivers/releases of lien
- Make sure payees have current insurance
- Prepare draw request
- Familiarity with AIA forms
Construction Accountant Requirements:
- Preferably 2 year’s experience in accounting or accounts payable
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Familiarity with accounting software preferred.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
