About This Role
As an Inventory Accounting Consultant at RGP, you will play a key role in supporting our client’s accounting operations with a specific focus on inventory. This hands-on role requires a strong understanding of debits and credits, and at least 3 years of experience in inventory accounting. You’ll be responsible for managing the month-end close process, preparing and posting journal entries, and performing detailed reconciliations. This opportunity is hybrid requiring an onsite presence Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in Miami, FL. What You Will Work On
Manage and execute the month-end close process, with a focus on inventory-related transactions and adjustments.
Prepare and post accurate journal entries, maintaining detailed documentation to support all entries.
Perform account reconciliations, including inventory and cost-related accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolution of any discrepancies.
Review and analyze account balances, investigating variances and making necessary adjustments.
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather supporting data and resolve issues impacting inventory reporting.
Utilize advanced Excel functions—such as macros and pivot tables—to analyze data and improve reporting efficiency.
Ensure financial accuracy and integrity through continuous review and reconciliation of inventory records.
What You Will Bring
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2-3 years of hands-on experience in inventory accounting, with a solid understanding of debits and credits.
Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with macros, spreadsheets, and pivot tables.
Peoplesoft experience preferred. Proven ability to lead key accounting functions, including month-end close, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations.
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
