Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Accountant to join our finance team on a short-term, hybrid contract basis. This role is responsible for recording and maintaining inventory transactions, reconciling accounts, supporting month-end close activities, and preparing various schedules and reports. The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliation skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly journal entries related to inventory transactions Reconcile inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger Monitor inventory activity and identify discrepancies Support the monthly closing process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting Investigate and resolve accounting issues related to inventory Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to inventory policies and procedures Assist with quarterly and year-end audits, providing requested documentation and support Prepare ad hoc reports and participate in special projects as needed Maintain strong communication with senior financial leadership Demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, and transparency in all tasks Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or Master’s degree a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) Experience with PeopleSoft General Ledger preferred Familiarity with database tools such as Access or Visio is a plus Solid understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting principles Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional Information:
This is a hybrid role, with in-office work required on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday , and remote work on Wednesday and Friday .
