Payroll Accountant
Miami, FL
A global leader in supply chain, logistics, and distribution, providing innovative solutions to top brands worldwide, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their team on a contract basis at their Medley, Florida location.
This role is ideal for a hands-on payroll professional with experience supporting high-volume payroll operations in dynamic, light industrial or logistics environments.
Payroll Accountant Responsibilities:
- Process and post payroll journal entries using SAP with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage high-volume payroll for a large, diverse hourly workforce
- Utilize Excel at an intermediate to advanced level, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
- Maintain meticulous payroll records and documentation in accordance with company and legal standards
- Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Support audits and reporting requirements as needed
- Ensure payroll procedures align with state and federal laws and internal policies
- Multitask and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced distribution environment
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Some flexibility may be required during peak periods
Payroll Accountant Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role
- Proficient in SAP for payroll journal entries and reconciliation
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, data validation, etc.)
- Experience processing payroll in high-volume settings, preferably logistics or distribution
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance and accounting principles
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work independently
- Experience with ADP and/or HRIS systems is a plus
- Ability to work fully onsite and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Pay Rate:
- $31 per hour
