Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Miami, Florida. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial aspects of projects, including tracking budgets, coordinating billing, and ensuring compliance with contract terms. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting systems and project financial management, contributing to the success of organizational initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze project budgets, expenditures, and costs to ensure alignment with forecasts.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all project-related financial transactions.
- Prepare and issue invoices in accordance with contract terms, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to oversee billing processes and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in revenue recognition by evaluating project milestones and completion percentages.
- Review contracts and change orders to verify financial terms and billing requirements.
- Track contract values, approved changes, and pending revisions to maintain financial accuracy.
- Support month-end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and project-specific financial reports.

- Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Deltek Vision, Costpoint, and About Time.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Experience with financial services tools such as ADP and auditing practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project accounting functions and ensure compliance with financial standards.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition principles and contract management.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in handling complex financial data.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
