Job Description

Project Accountant 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 19501 Biscayne Boulevard, Aventura, FL 33180 About the Job (Job Summary) The Project Accountant is a staff position that is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all job cost accounting aspects of a development project. This requires coordination with the Project Development Team and will include budget variance analysis, contract, and change order maintenance, and draw preparation. In addition, the project accountant will perform other accounting duties as required.

What You Do:

(Duties/Responsibilities) Receives requests for payment including invoices and contractor pay applications (AIA), verifies documents, assigns General Ledger or Job Cost coding per Budget Review Contractor and Trade Contractor AIA requisition(s) to ensure schedule of values and change orders are approved Review contracts, purchase orders, change orders and service agreements and ensure accurate posting Enter bi-weekly construction and sales payroll cost Ensures signature authority rules are maintained on all requests for payment Requests issuance of checks and disburses payments Monthly preparation of bank draws and periodic capital calls Prepare monthly anticipated cost report and collaborate with Project Managers for review Obtains and maintains required documentation includingW-9’s, notices to owner, lien releases, certificates of insurance and other documents as required Maintain and monitor OCIP and CCIP program if applicable Review of electronic filing system for required documents and requests for payment Reconciles vendor statements and ensures timely receipt of requests for payment Maintain internal control procedures for approval of all commitments. Generates commitments for contracts and change orders in Yardi upon receipt of fully executed summary contract form Update periodic sales/use tax schedule Enter banks fees via journal entries for bank reconciliations Purchaser Escrow deposits Assist in coordination of job close out Analyze sales commissions schedules for accuracy Perform monthly customer deposits & unit sales reconciliation with Sales Team.
