Job Description
We are assisting one of our clients, a very successful (multi-locations) company and lifestyle brand in the Hospitality industry, in finding a driven Senior Accountant to join their growing Finance and Accounting team! Senior Accountant The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the overall fiscal health of the company. The successful candidate will be comfortable performing detailed financial reviews and operational analysis. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in driving accounting improvements and engaging with business leaders throughout the company on day-to-day financial and operational initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in establishing financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and evaluating variances to applicable comparisons. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain internal control safeguards for costs and revenue. Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all departments, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing and future legislation. Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow. Provide support to the accounting team with a collaborative and productive approach. Perform technical research to ensure compliance with applicable accounting guidance. Assist with financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscapes. Provide appropriate Financial Planning and Analysis support covering a wide range of topics, including preparation of investor and board materials.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field. 5+ years of proven accounting experience. Knowledge of GAAP accounting and reporting policies; some familiarity with IFRS standards. CPA candidate preferred. Experience with cloud-based accounting systems. Working knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance. Hands-on experience closing the books while preparing financial statements and monthly reporting packages covering P&L, cash flow summary, AP, AR, and cash management. Background in handling accounting for Inventory, Inventory Reserves, Fixed Assets, CAPEX, and OPEX. Expertise with Cost of Goods Sold calculations and understanding of cost accounting processes, accounting impact, and theory. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; experience with ERP systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar) is a plus.
