Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage the daily operations of our accounting department, contribute to monthly closes, prepare profit and loss statements, and maintain balance sheet schedules and subsidiary ledgers for our subsidiary companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, profit and loss (P&L) review, and balance sheet reconciliations. Generate monthly P&L statements. Assist in the Order-to-Cash process for our Open Course business, providing accounting support for both consumer and enterprise operations, while delivering performance reports to business partners. Contribute to strategic revenue initiatives for our edX Marketplace. Prepare audit schedules and collaborate with auditors to ensure timely audit completion. Handle special projects and miscellaneous departmental duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. CPA certification preferred. 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for Big 4 and/or public accounting experience. Experience in the service industry is a plus. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills are essential. Proficiency in MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills required.
