USD Annually Description:

Senior Accountant (Insurance) Key Responsibilities Prepare and review financial statements with a strong understanding of business operations and analytics, utilizing tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Oracle (automation experience is a plus). Lead and support monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Analyze reinsurance settlements, including MODCO and Coinsurance with funds withheld, in collaboration with the Midwest Holding team. Perform weekly and monthly account reconciliations and certifications in compliance with the Statutory Model Audit Rule. Compile quarterly annuity reserve valuations from third-party sources and prepare necessary GAAP and STAT journal entries. Conduct quarterly Deferred Acquisition Cost (DAC) analysis and prepare related GAAP entries. Investigate and resolve financial variances, aligning findings with business performance and economic drivers.
