Cummins | Cederberg is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our team in Coral Gables. The ideal candidate will be self-motivating, pro-active and have a degree in accounting . We are a growing coastal and marine engineering firm 6 offices throughout Florida serving both private and public clients. The Coral Gables office serves as Head Quarter for the company. The job includes working with Project Managers, Senior Accountant and Controller to ensure accurate and up-to-date project reporting and record-keeping regarding budget, revenue, cost, invoicing, and collections throughout the lifecycle of multiple projects.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS

Assigns and opens projects in the accounting system which includes making sure that the information provided by the PM is in line with the contractMaintain project-related records, including executed contracts and change orders; files to be promptly saved in SharePointAuthorize access to project accountsAuthorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project-related accountsReview and approve supplier invoices and charges related to a projectInvestigate project variances and submits variance reports to accounting supervisorCollaborate with PM’s regarding unpaid InvoicesReport to accounting supervisor regarding the remaining Backlog available for projectsClose out project accounts upon project completionCompile information for internal and external auditors, as requiredProvide project managers and clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts.

Prepare pre-billing reports for project managers to review.

Monitor receivable income and supporting project managers with collections.

Consultant set up, making sure subconsultant agreements are in place, Non-Disclosure agreements, Certificates of insurance and licenses, if applicableIssue invoices, as well as paying consultant, subcontractor, vendor, and supplier bills.

COMPETENCIES

Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office softwareExperience with Deltek Vantagepoint accounting softwareJob cost accounting experienceOrganized and detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and interdepartmental reporting needsAbility to perform in a fast-paced team environment; self-motivated and possesses excellent time management and organizational skillsPossesses excellent internal and external customer service skills • Maintains a positive attitude and collaborative spirit.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
