Position Overview The Senior Real Estate Accountant will provide oversight and direction for primary accounting functions-including bill payment/processing, financial support, and administrative tasks for Empira Group and its development projects. This role requires close collaboration across the Accounting, Asset Management, and Development departments, as well as with Empira’s Swiss Headquarters. Your tasks Manage the day-to-day cash transactions of Empira Group and Development Projects. This includes but is not limited to daily oversight of bank accounts, payroll, corporate credit cards, maintaining relationships with our banks, and accounts payable process, setting up and inputting wire/ACH transactions. Manage the allocation and documentation process for capital transactions and intercompany bill-backs. Compile and review the monthly, quarterly, and annual financials from our third-party party accountants. Monitor the entry of information, and verify invoice accuracy, coding, and data entry. Develop and maintain records of financial transactions for the company. Analyze and prepare reports on statistics regarding expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business. Ensure the maintenance, updating and effective summarization of applicable ledgers and computer files/reports. Support project accounting by overseeing budgeting, cost tracking, and financial performance analysis for development projects. Prepare and manage construction draws in collaboration with Asset Management and the Development teams, ensuring that draw requests align with project milestones and financial guidelines. Read and interpret legal documents, organizational charts, and contracts. Assist senior management with any ad hoc reporting. Your qualifications A four-year college degree in Accounting or relevant degree is required. CPA strongly preferred. A minimum of 4 years of commercial accounting or finance experience is necessary as well as real estate accounting background. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including expertise in constructing workbooks and using functions such as VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and SUMIFS for data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of real estate financial terms and accounting principles. Working knowledge of QuickBooks, and Bill.com. Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and discretion, supervise and direct others, and function as an inside advisor or consultant on finance and accounting matters. Knowledge of account payables, receivables, budgets, and expenditure controls. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must be able to create detailed accounting and analytical reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
