Job Description

Senior Staff Accountant Newgard Group 1 SE 3rd Avenue, Miami, FL 33131 Job Summary Newgard Development Group Inc (“Newgard”) is a leading real estate development firm focused on luxury condominium / condominium hotel projects in Florida and the Southeast. Newgard is seeking to hire a Senior Staff Accountant on a temp-to-perm basis who will play an important role in the company’s financial operations and growth initiatives. The position offers the potential for permanent placement based on performance and company needs. The Senior Staff Account will report to the Corporate Controller. Duties Maintains accounting department files and records. Enters information into accounting data entry system. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Compiles draw requests to be provided to capital partners. Research problem invoices; interfaces with vendors, customer service team, and other appropriate staff to reconcile. Assists with month-end close and runs monthly reports as required. Maintains vendor information on banking platforms. Enters ACH and wire payments for approval. Prepares and posts deposits, balances deposits on bank statements. Prepares invoices, checks, timecards, and other records and reviews for accuracy. Logs, posts, and balances petty cash. Assists with preparation of 1099s. Assists with special accounting projects. Skills Experience performing accounting functions within a complex real estate development organization with multiple, large-scale projects, legal entities, and capital sources. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Technology-driven:

Seeks ways to leverage technology to streamline processes, procedures and controls Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Proficiency in Accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Yardi, etc. Willing to take on increasing levels of responsibility. Takes initiative, pro-active Fluent in verbal and written English Strong communication skills Follows through with deliverables and keeps management abreast of progress. Willingness to occasionally work longer than normal hours to get the job done and meet deadlines. Experience with the Northspyre platform would be an advantage. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; advanced degree a plus. Strong foundation in the principles of accounting Experience compiling draw requests. Adaptability
