Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Coral Gables, Florida. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to manage key accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. You will play a critical role in preparing accurate financial reports and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Record and maintain journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Oversee month-end close activities, including management of Fixed Assets, Prepaids, and Accruals.
  • Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports to meet compliance requirements.
  • Provide financial information and insights to the head office and other subsidiaries.
  • Assist with internal, external, and regulatory audits by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related inquiries.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting principles, company policies, and deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in accounting within the banking industry (MUST)
  • Comprehensive understanding of Prepaids, Accruals, and Fixed Assets accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with month-end close processes and general ledger management.
