Job Description

Description Government Office looking for a Staff Accountant

  • Record and report financial data accurately, ensuring timely updates to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts to maintain precise financial records.
  • Prepare bookkeeping entries and compile monthly financial packages for review.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage tasks related to cash receipts, bank transfers, and incoming wires.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide accurate financial analysis on key accounts.
  • Maintain general ledger entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and verifying account balances.
  • Utilize accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to streamline financial operations.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data while proposing alternative solutions when necessary.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting efforts to support organizational financial planning. Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in accounting or financial operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger processes.
  • Ability to perform bank reconciliations and manage journal entries effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
