Here at LHH, we have partnered with a client to help with their search in finding a Staff Accountant with a background in the Manufacturing industry. The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing support for informed financial decision-making. Key responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, booking journal entries, and performing monthly closing activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain general ledger, booking journal entries and performing monthly closing activities Compiling and Reviewing Financial Statements. Inspect accounting records for accuracy & consistency Monthly management reporting Coordinate customer invoicing and effectively communicating with other functions in resolving aging receivables Assisting with budgeting and forecasting Performing monthly account reconciliation Coordinating cash receipts, disbursements, and cash forecasting activities Interface with and supporting external auditors Coordinating issuing of 1099 for vendors Other projects or responsibilities as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong analytical & problem solving skills with attention to detail Ability to compare and interpret data, format into reports and make judgments based upon this knowledge Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Demonstrated accuracy and attention to details Ability to perform duties with relative independence and the capacity to work as part of a team when required Ability to perform multiple assignments simultaneously Must be helpful, respectful, approachable and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a team environment Must demonstrate efficiency by planning ahead, managing time well, having consistent attendance, being on time, being cost conscious and thinking of better ways to do things Must be receptive to feedback, willing to learn and welcome continuous improvement Ability to take initiative by owning assignments, doing what is needed without being asked and demonstrated follow through
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 4 years experience in accounting (manufacturing experience preferred) Proficient in using Microsoft Office Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Experience of working in an ERP environment
