Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Miami, Florida. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential financial processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and a strong ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Contribute to budgeting and financial reporting efforts to support organizational goals.
- Ensure all accounting activities comply with established standards and internal controls.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with precision.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Oracle for day-to-day operations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve financial workflows and reporting.
- Provide support for audits and other compliance-related activities as needed. Requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Oracle.
- Experience with nonprofit accounting is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Familiarity with general ledger management and journal entry preparation.
