SUMMARY We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant who will be responsible for reviewing the general ledger and perform account analysis, preparing journal entries, account reconciliation, and assisting with policies, procedures, and internal controls improvement/implementation. Specifically, this will include filing state taxes and use tax, ensuring accurate accounting for the company’s vans and van inventory, and the preparation of account reconciliations, as well as managing accounts receivable, contract analysis, and revenue recognition, This position reports to the finance manager

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Proven experience as an accountant or similar role Solid knowledge of accounting regulations and practices
Advanced excel skills and strong analytical skills Proficiency in Accounting software
Experience in Great Plains a plus
Desired skills: Time management, analytical, detail oriented, and communication

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and invoice entries
Monitor and manage accounts receivable, to include review of customer contracts, revenue recognition, and billing File multi state, county, district, and local sales and/or use tax returns and ensure tax payments are timely
Maintain state business registrations
Ensure the costs of the company’s fleet of vans are properly allocated to the correct departments
Support month-end and year-end close processes Assist with other accounting projects and tasks as needed
