Summary of Position:

The Accountant III role serves to apply principles of accounting to record financial activity to the general ledger, analyze and reconcile financial data, and present financial information of increasing complexity. The Kind of Work You’ll be

Doing:

Record and analyze financial transactions in accounting software with increasing complexity. Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records (including sub ledgers) to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues including communicating outstanding items to other teams or departments, facilitating the entry or correction as needed, and ensuring items are resolved in a timely manner consistent with the internal reconciliation policy. Reconcile other general ledger accounts including intracompany asset and liability accounts. Reconcile intercompany activity and prepare consolidation. Perform settlement between parent organization and subsidiaries by identifying and recording intercompany receivable and payable. Monitor general ledger for errors i.e. intercompany transaction errors, system generated account imbalances, and journal keying errors. Assist during internal or external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions. This includes collaborating with internal departments for gathering documentation. Assist with footnote disclosures. Prepare and file tax forms and reports, adhering to relevant tax regulations and guidelines including sales tax, tangible personal property, unclaimed property, Form 720, etc. Conduct basic financial analysis to assess financial performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements and analyze general ledger accounts. Provide consultation to finance staff on accounting matters as needed. Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP. Record the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, calculate depreciation, perform accounting for disposition of fixed assets and fixed assets retirement. Perform monthly, quarterly and annual fixed assets related analysis and produce ad hoc reports as requested. Prepare audit schedules for fixed assets and assist auditors with inquiries. Assist with compliance to ASC 842 (lease accounting standard) by reviewing contracts for lease criteria, classifying leases, preparing entries to record leases to the general ledger, and maintaining lease accounting software Why Join Us?
