Summary The Financial Reporting and Accounting Coordinator position is responsible for the day-to-day reporting and accounting function of office operations which may include Network office and district network office(s). This includes Daily data input into our Accounting System, using proper double entry accounting procedures and month end/year end accounting. This Coordinator must have the ability to gather data from prescribed Internal and external tools and software to create and provide performance reporting to the agency on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting functions:
- Manage accounts payable/reimbursements
- Manage accounts payable to properly plan cash flow so that expenses are paid in a timely fashion
- Maintain accurate files of invoices or other source documents
- Process office payroll to including paying necessary state and federal taxes
- Pay for benefit plans via proper deductions while maintaining accurate records of wages, benefits, and taxes.
- Prepare annual W2 statements which could include the monitoring of all payroll activity to ensure that it is being properly executed by the outside payroll service
- Pay Financial Advisor commissions for Insurance and Investment business
- Recover all financial representative debt on a timely basis
- Prepare annual 1099 statements for financial representatives
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Assist in preparation of tax returns
- Assist in educating financial representatives on their compensation payouts through commissions, fee’s and bonuses
Reporting Functions:
- Collaborating with executive team to ensure reports are meeting the needs of the business not limited to, but to include Finance, Development, Internship, Marketing and Recruiting
- Consult and strategize with finance team on achieving agency vision for the future
- Develop and implement a value added bookkeeping service for Financial Advisors
- Track and distribute regular updates for home office and local contests, ensuring all participants are informed of progress and deadlines
- Prepare reports that track the development of Financial Advisors
- Communicate to the local offices the progress of new advisor productivity
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate should have:
- Two or more years of experience in accounting and/or finance preferred
- Experience working in a commission/production related environment preferred
- Ability to compile data, pull data from various sources and create manual reports
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically strong Excel skills, and technological savvy o Expert Level in Excel to include Pivot Tables
- Knowledge of standard accounting software programs, including Quicken personal finance software
- Strong presentation, persuasion, problem solving, oral and written communication skills
- Strong personal code of ethics, including maintaining confidentiality
- High self-motivation and strong organization skills
- Ability to adapt and learn in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Team player and positive attitude.
- Track Stipend program to support early advisor productivity
- Prepare and distribute reports tracking Recruiter and Leadership Recruiting activity
- Assist in completing Executives monthly credit card reconciliation and budgets
