Onsite Job Summary:

The Florida Turnpike Division is seeking a qualified Accountant to join our professional office team in Ocoee, FL. This position will focus on preparing financial reconciliations, construction work-in-progress ledgers, and support mid-year and year-end financial closing processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient in Excel, and knowledgeable in government accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare financial reconciliations , analyses, and construction work-in-progress ledgers. Support year-end and mid-year closing processes , including accruals, adjustments, and correcting entries. Analyze pre-closing trial balances and ensure timely compliance with Department closing requirements. Prepare and present financial reports per GAAP , DOT, and DFS standards. Research and reclassify capital project expenses into fixed assets. Review existing financial reporting and reconciliation processes and recommend improvements. Develop and document internal accounting policies and procedures .

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures Ability to review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness Proficient in Microsoft Excel , including functions like formulas, sorting/filtering, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP Ability to analyze and interpret financial data Familiarity with government accounting standards and reporting requirements Strong communication skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Requirements:
