is a Nurse Registry referral organization dedicated to connecting qualified nursing professionals with individuals seeking their services. As a non-employer entity, we focus on referring independent contractors to ensure high-quality care and support. Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to manage both general accounting functions and Medicaid billing processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial bookkeeping, payroll processing, and insurance billing (with a focus on Medicaid), particularly within the healthcare or home care industry.

Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and all accounting records
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Process payroll and ensure tax compliance (federal, state, and local)
• Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, and ad hoc financial analysis
• Ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions
• Coordinate with CPA for annual tax filing and audits
• Maintain vendor relationships and manage billing cycles

Medicaid Billing:

• Accurately prepare and submit Medicaid claims through approved electronic systems (such as Tellus or Gainwell, if applicable)
• Track and resolve denials, rejections, and underpayments promptly
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid regulations and billing requirements
• Verify eligibility and authorization for services prior to billing
• Work closely with care coordinators and schedulers to ensure accurate data for billing
• Maintain organized records of billed, paid, and outstanding claims Requirements
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting and healthcare billing
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online/Desktop), Excel, and billing platforms (e.g., Tellus, HHAeXchange)
• Strong understanding of Medicaid billing guidelines and compliance
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the home care or healthcare industry
• Knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy best practices
