Accountant, Sr Position Available In Palm Beach, Florida

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Juno Beach, Florida. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance while driving special projects and providing expert guidance to team members. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies by maintaining a thorough understanding of applicable accounting regulations.
• Lead and manage special projects, including conducting detailed research, analyzing financial data, and recommending actionable solutions.
• Provide mentorship and direction to team members, fostering collaboration and growth.
• Maintain the integrity of corporate financial data by implementing and monitoring effective internal controls.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports that meet regulatory and organizational standards.
• Independently create schedules and journal entries to ensure proper documentation of financial activities.
• Oversee the accounting for pension and employee benefits, including reconciliations, journal entries, and quarterly and annual disclosures.
• Manage the accounting and reporting for special use funds, such as nuclear decommissioning and storm funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Record and reconcile investment-related activities, including equity earnings, capital statements, and wire transfers, while coordinating with internal teams and external trustees.
• Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments to resolve issues and exchange critical financial information, particularly during reporting periods. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, with at least 4 years of detailed accounting experience.
• Advanced degree in Accounting or CPA certification is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in preparing financial reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and their application in maintaining financial integrity.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and provide solutions to financial challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Familiarity with pension, employee benefits, and investment accounting processes.
