Full benefits package About the Role We are a fast-growing real estate development firm specializing in affordable multifamily housing across Florida. We are seeking a Development Cost Accountant to join our team in Boca Raton, FL. This position plays a key role in managing project accounting for new construction and rehabilitation projects. You’ll collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and Development Managers to ensure accurate financial oversight and reporting throughout the development lifecycle. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle project accounting for affordable housing developments Prepare and review construction draw requests and track budget drawdowns Maintain general ledgers and trial balances for real estate development projects Reconcile bank, bond, and intercompany accounts Perform month-end closings and support financial statement preparation Use Northspyre or similar software to track construction funding and expenditures Assist with cost certifications, audits, and funder reporting Communicate regularly with vendors, contractors, and financial institutions
Qualifications Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or real estate development accounting Experience with affordable housing (LIHTC) projects strongly preferred Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience with Northspyre or similar accounting software preferred Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and financial accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Clear written and verbal communication skills Team-oriented with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset Organized, adaptable, and comfortable in fast-paced environments Equal Opportunity Employer We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
