The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for real estate. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic industry and contribute to the financial success of our properties.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible to assist in the day to day accounting activities of real estate assets and the funds that invest in these assets. This position is generally responsible for supporting the accounting department with duties listed below and other tasks as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to: Reconciles Bank Accounts for each property Records and pays the mortgage for each property that has been assigned Performs bank transfers as needed to fund operating and payroll accounts Reviews accounts payable aging reports and paying vendors on time Facilitates and completes monthly close procedures Prepares balance sheet reconciliations for each property Reviews all transactions and general ledger accounts for irregularities and to assure accounting treatment is in accordance with GAAP Ensures all required transactions have been posted and making accruals when necessary Supports month end, and year end close processes Provides necessary support to external auditors, lenders, or investors Provide administrative support as needed, including organizing documents, filing, and other office tasks. •
Non-Essential Functions:
• Seek ways to improve upon accounting processes and procedures. Complete special projects assigned by management Detailed oriented. Well organized and maintains a good follow up system.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or relevant certification preferred. 3+ years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the multi-family industry. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficiency in property management accounting software (e.g., Realpage or Yardi). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
