Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to support our growing tax practice. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys a mix of traditional tax prep, fiduciary accounting, and close collaboration with attorneys and clients in a boutique environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in individual and fiduciary tax returns, organized in managing multiple client deliverables, and comfortable working independently. Key Responsibilities –
Tax:
Prepare and review individual, trust, estate, and gift tax returns (Forms 1040, 1041, 706, 709) Support entry-level tax work: roll forward and update Excel-based workpapers Process tax returns and scan documents and statements into tax program Maintain the tax calendar and assist with administrative tracking Correspond with clients regarding outstanding tax items and documentation Experience with Forms 1065, 1120S, FBARs, and 1099s is a plus Key Responsibilities –
Accounting:
Assist with fiduciary accounting Review and analyze broker statements and related investment activity Research and implement processes for importing transactions into GEMS (prior GEMS experience is a plus but not required) Collaborate with attorneys to obtain relevant client financial information
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field CPA or CPA track preferred 3+ years of relevant experience in tax preparation and fiduciary accounting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required Experience with CCH or similar tax software preferred Strong organizational and communication skills Comfortable in a small office setting with direct client and attorney interaction
