Sr. Cost Accountant Position Available In Palm Beach, Florida

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Cost Accountant to join our team in West Palm Beach, Florida. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal part in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, including budget creation, cost analysis, and vendor oversight. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to a dynamic private equity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and monitor detailed project budgets in collaboration with Project Managers.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and departmental policies during daily financial operations.
• Oversee vendor and general contractor contracts, verifying invoices and ensuring timely payments.
• Prepare and process financial documents, including invoices, change orders, and construction draws.
• Conduct account reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities.
• Evaluate job costs and provide accurate cash flow estimations to support project planning.
• Communicate effectively with contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to contractual terms.
• Handle progress billings, retainage, lien waivers, and insurance documentation.
• Support ad-hoc financial projects and provide insights to enhance financial processes. Requirements
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including

• Familiarity with monthly construction draw processes and change orders.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using accounting software systems such as Yardi.
