Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing cost reports, and assisting with budgeting and variance analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of cost accounting principles, and experience in a manufacturing or production-based environment.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and monitor material, labor, and overhead costs. Maintain and update standard costs in the system. Perform cost variance analysis and report findings to management. Support inventory valuation, cycle counts, and reconciliations. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and month-end closing processes. Prepare detailed cost reports for internal use. Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
